Charles Njagua popularly alias Jaguar from jubilee party bagged 52,132 compared to ODM candidate Steve Mbogo’s 32,357 and prominent activist Boniface Mwangi 13, 413.
Jaguar becomes the first musician to be a member of parliament in Kenya and fourth in East Africa. Two from Tanzania Joseph Haule(Professor J) and Joseph Mbilinyi (Sugu). From Uganda we have Robert Kyangulanyi Sentamu(Bobi Wine).
Jaguar took his extreme joy to his Instagram account and this is what he wrote:
“Nothing would count without God Above. I thank the People of Starehe for having the confidence and trust in me to represent them in Parliament. I thank all my supporters, friends and family who stayed out late campaigning. I also congratulate my Worthy Opponents; Steve Mbogo, Boniface Mwangi and Hon Kwenya who put up well spirited campaigns. This is not only a win for Starehe but a win for all the youth in Kenya who look towards a more promising future for Kenya. Let’s now build the Starehe that we all want. God bless you all.”
Speaking to Mzazi willy M Tuva on Mambo Mseto show, he said that he will continue with his music as he represent the people of Starehe in parliament.
