Form selection is an exercise that comes after Kenya certificate of Primary Education KCPE has been released. Students who have been selected can be placed in any of the following depending on the marks scored.
- National School
- Extra County School
- County school
2019 form one selection exercise will kick off on 3rd of December and students are expected to receive their admission or calling letters before Christmas.
This exercise is done prior to end year to give room for parents, guardians and well wishers to plan effectively so as to enhance smooth transition to secondary level.
After conclusion of Form 1 selection for 2018, the Ministry of Education has avails calling letters/forms for selected candidates online (KNEC 2018 KCPE candidates).

Procedure of Downloading 2018 Form One Admission Letters
A student can only be selected to join one of the following category
- National Schools
- Extra County School
- County Schools
First the student must confirm through notification the school s/he has been selected to join. Then proceed to the Ministry of Education portal for Form one selection: http://www.education.go.ke/index.php/online-services/form-one-selection
Once you click and open the link you will find 3 links for the three categories of schools. Click on the appropriate one, e.g. Form One Selection System for Extra County Schools.
