It says that taking photograph of event will actually help us enjoy them even more.
Whether it’s tucking into a delicious meal, taking a stroll in the park or putting in some hard work at the gym.
Over 2,000 people took part in nine different experiments. They were instructed to either take photos or not and complete a survey on how much fun they had during each task.
“We show that, relative to not taking photos, photography can heighten enjoyment of positive experiences by increasing engagement,” said Diehl, one of the co-authors of the study.
Those that took photos of the experiences reported feeling more engaged in the activity – whether it was taking a walk through a museum or eating a meal.
Interestingly, the team found it also works the other way. Taking a photo of a negative experience can heighten the unhappiness experienced.
