28 new Covid-19 cases push number to 700 in Kenya

Ministry of health has confirmed 28 new coronavirus Cases from a total of 841 samples in the last 24 hours. This now brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Kenya to 700.

Of the new cases, ten(10) are from Mombasa, nine(9) from Kajiado, seven(7) from Nairobi and two(2) from Wajir.

Recoveries and Fatalities

The CAS announced 12 new recoveries bringing the total number of those who have recovered in the country to 251.

However, Aman announced one more death, raising Kenya’s total fatalities from the virus to 23.

Dr. Aman acknowledged that country is facing a challenge of unavailability of reagent that is limiting testing capacity.

“We do have the testing capacity but we are sometimes limited by the unavailability of reagents which is a global problem, not only in Kenya,” stated CAS Rashid Aman.

He further urged individuals to be keen and minimize movements that could speed up the spread of the virus.

“We need to stop the importation of the disease from other areas so we are urging the communities along the borders to keep a keen eye and report any movements they see across the borders,” said CAS Rashid Aman

“I want to request every individual to be their brother’s keeper, if we move together in this fight we shall overcome,” added CAS Rashid Aman
