TSC To Publish Names Of shortlisted Applicants For July Mass Recruitment on This Date

In a bid to make the recruitment exercise more transparent, The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is required to publish on its official website names of teachers who will be successfully shortlisted..

According to earlier guidelines that were issued by the commission, it will publish the shortlisted candidates on its website from Wednesday 13th July, 2022 to Friday 15th July, 2022

In the advert the Commission seeks to recruit a total 14,460 primary and secondary school teachers as well as Teacher Training College (TTC) tutors by July.

Currently TSC has a total of 345,316 teachers on its payroll. Of these, 228,126 are primary school teachers, 116,024 are secondary school teachers and 1,166 are TTC tutors.

TSC is currently grappling with massive shortage of teachers. The Commission requires a total 114,581 teachers to plug the shortage.

Some of the employed teachers serve as interns for a period of one year which is renewable. The Commission employs 6,000 teachers on internship each year.

In this July recruitment, TSC gave interested and qualified candidates till 7th July, to apply for the advertised vacancies.

  1. During the selection, each applicant shall be assigned a serial number. Applicants must present original and legible photocopies of the following, among other relevant documents: –
    1. National identification card;
    2. Certificate of Registration as a teacher;
    3. Authentic evidence of service as a teacher intern (where applicable);
    4. PTE /DPTE Certificate;
    5. KCSE certificates or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if (one re-sat exams);
    6. KCPE certificate or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts ifone re-sat exams);
    7. Letter of Certification of results by KNEC (where applicable);
    8. Primary and Secondary School leaving certificates and otherrelevant testimonials;
    9. National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);
    10. An Affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain the variance in names.

Any applicant who is dissatisfied with the exercise should submit to the TSC County Director a written complaint immediately and send an email to the TSC Headquarters through, dirstaffing@tsc.go.ke not later than seven (7) days after the selection exercise;

The TSC County Director should, within seven (7) days of receipt of such a complaint, analyze and address all complaints raised after the selection process has been completed and thereafter submit a report to the Headquarters on the action taken.

Where an applicant is dissatisfied with the decision of the TSC County Director in (ii) above, or where the complaint is made against the TSC County Director, the applicant shall appeal to the Appeals Committee on staffing functions at the TSC Headquarters. The Appeals Committee shall investigate the allegations and take appropriate action within fourteen (14) days.
