Early Childhood Development education, ECDE, teachers in Nyamira county are breathing a sigh of relieve after governor Amos Nyaribo renewed their contracts for a period of three years effective 1st February 2021.
While submitting the indent to Nyamira County Public Service Board, honourable Amos Nyaribo admitted that Early Childhood Development education is the cornerstone of any education system.

“Consequently, so as to ensure effective learning in the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), I have today submitted the indent to the Nyamira County Public Service Board to renew the contracts of 383 ECDE teachers effective 1st February 2021for a period of three years,” Stated governor Nyaribo in a statement.
However, it is important to note that, the ECDE teachers whose contracts will be renewed are from Phase 2 Category II and Phase 3 ECDE caregivers.

Unpaid gratuity
Further, the governor noted that he will see to it that the ECDE teachers who did not receive their gratuity money amounting to Sh120 million will be paid once the County Assembly approves a Supplementary Budget that will be presented soon.
Scrutiny
While renewing these contracts, the Nyamira County Public Service Board will scrutinize the academic documents and testimonials with the successful teachers issued appointment letters. This exercise begins on Thursday February 4, 2021 to Monday February 8, 2021.
The ECDE teachers will be required to present their certificates and other testimonials with proof of TSC registration to the Service Board from where they will pick the appointment letters according to the following schedule:
