Education ministry has extended the 2021 KCPE/KCSE registration exercise to August 14, 2021. Heads of institutions have been reminded to register all candidates.

In a statement issued on Monday, Education CS Prof George Magoha said the extension is meant to allow schools to ensure all candidates are registered.

The registration of candidates for the 2021 KCPE, KCSE and KCSE QT examinations will started from 2nd June, 2021.
At the same time the ministry of education has noted that late registration shall not be allowed.
As of 31st July 2021, 1, 218, 892 candidates in 28, 248 centers and 824, 392 candidates in 10, 384 centers had been registered for the KCPE and KCSE examinations respectively.
The notable increase in KCSE candidature is attributed to the success of the Government’s policy of 100 per cent transition which started in 2018.
The CS said the registration deadline will be followed by verification of candidates’ registration as captured in the 2021 KCPE and KCSE nominal rolls. He reminded Head Teachers and Principals that duly signed nominal rolls and medical reports for candidates with special needs must be submitted to Sub County Directors of Education together with other registration documents.
In a circular dated 28th June, 2021, the council directed that  all schools with less than thirty (30) candidates will have to be hosted.
Magoha said all Special needs School will retain their examination centers irrespective of the number of registered candidates.
