The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), has revealed how Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates can confirm their registration details.
The students can confirm their credentials by sending an SMS of the index number (Single Space)(Exam) to code 20076.
Ultimate goal of the confirmation of candidates’ registration details is to avoid ugly situations that have been witnessed in the past where students realise that they were not registered on the examination day.
KNEC has already released a timetable for the two national examinations showing that KCSE is set to begin on Monday, February 28, 2022, with orals in foreign languages and end on April 1, 2022 with Physics practicals.
On the other hand KCPE, will commence on March 7, 2022 with a Mathematics paper and end March 9 with the Social Studies paper.
Preparation for this year’s examinations is at top gear. Last month, the council invited more teachers to train as examiners in selected subjects. KNEC explained that the training was aimed at expanding its database for teachers to be considered during the marking of the 2021/2022 papers.
Venues of the training and the mode in which the qualified teachers will use to pay the Ksh10,500 training fee will be issued after the application exercise is complete.
Teachers taking learners through Kiswahili subject in secondary schools have received the highest chunk of the training slots (450), while History and Government examiners and Agriculture paper 1 examiners received few training slots(70)
