Kenya has confirmed 51 new coronavirus today bringing the total tally to 963 Health cabinet secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced today.
Thirty-two of these are male and 19 are female. The new cases are persons of ages between 2-63 years.
Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing at Afya House, the CS stated that 1,933 samples had been tested during the period bringing the total samples tested in the country to 46,784.
Of Kenya’s total Covid-19 numbers, Nairobi has 470 cases, Mombasa has 331.
CS Kagwe further stated that 23 out of 47 counties have now recorded cases of Covid -19, accounting for 49%, adding that 83.2% of the overall cases have been confirmed in Nairobi and Mombasa.
At the same time, the CS said total recoveries now stand at 358 after twenty two (22) persons recovered in the last 24 hours.
He further said that no person succumbed to the virus meaning the total fatalities stand at 50 so far.
The CS also said that out of the 214 people tested on the Kenya-Tanzania border, 182 were foreigners.
